Editing Subscriptions

Important Note: Please be aware that the edits made to subscriptions as outlined here will NOT make any changes on the gateway level (i.e. in your PayPal Account, Stripe Dashboard, etc.). You should be using data from the respective gateway to update subscription info.

In MemberPress, you can edit any subscription that appears on the MemberPress > Subscriptions page. Reasons why you would want to do this could include:

  1. You incorrectly imported a Subscription and need to fix it.
  2. There was an issue with the gateway connection that prevented the subscription being setup with the correct gateway ID or other data. In this case you are seeing a subscription ID that looks like mp-sub-xxxxxxxxxxx.
  3. You would like to manually move a current subscription and the access paid, to another user (original user will still be billed unless the new user updates their payment info on that subscription through their account page).
  4. Etc.

How you go about editing the subscription depends on the subscription type.

Editing Automatically Recurring Subscriptions

To edit Automatically Recurring Subscriptions, please follow these basic steps:

  1. Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard > MemberPress > Subscriptions > Recurring tab.
  2. Find or search for the subscription you want to edit.
  3. Under the "Subscription" column, hover over the unique Subscription ID.
  4. Click the "Edit" link.
  5. On the "Edit Subscription" page, edit the data you need to edit.
  6. Save your changes by clicking the "Update" link near the bottom of the page.

Editing Non-Recurring Subscriptions

Please note that a Non-Recurring Subscription is really just a single isolated Transaction or payment. This means that when editing a Non-Recurring Subscription, you are simply just editing a user's Transaction.

To edit Non-Recurring Subscriptions, please follow these basic steps:

  1. Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard > MemberPress > Subscriptions > Non-Recurring tab.
  2. Find or search for the subscription/transaction you want to edit.
  3. Under the "Transaction" column, click on the unique transaction ID.
  4. Under the "Transaction" column, hover over the unique transaction ID and click the "Edit" link.
  5. On the "Edit Transaction" page, edit the data you need to edit.
  6. Save your changes by clicking the "Update" link near the bottom of the page.
