Installation & Configuration of our Campaign Monitor Addon
Step 1 - Install Campaign Monitor Addon
In your dashboard, head to MemberPress -> Activate -> Addons and click to install the Campaign Monitor addon. Once it's installed, activate it and you'll see the Campaign Monitor integration available in the "Marketing" tab of the MemberPress Options page.
Step 2 - Get Campaign Monitor Client ID
Login to Campaign Monitor, and click on your profile image on the top right corner of the page, then click on the Manage Account menu option.
On the next page, click on API keys
Copy your Client ID from the Manage API keys page
Then paste your it into the Campaign Monitor Client ID field:
Step 3 - Get Campaign Monitor API Key
Under your Manage Account > API Keys page, mentioned in Step 2, you will also find your API Key. Copy that API Key
Then paste it into the Campaign Monitor API Key field.
Step 4 - Select Campaign Monitor Email List
Once your Client ID and API Keys are in place, MemberPress will connect with Campaign Monitor to populate your email list. When it appears, select the email list you would like to use from the Campaign Monitor Email List drop-down shown below:
Once you have completed the steps above, by default, MemberPress will now automatically add the email address for everyone who signs up through your membership registration form to your Global email list in Campaign Monitor. MemberPress never removes a user from the Global list.
Step 4 - Setup Per Membership lists (Optional, but STRONGLY recommended)
The Per-Membership lists are a great way to automatically segment your members into different lists for marketing purposes.
Once you have Campaign Monitor enabled, a new option becomes available under the "Advanced" tab of the Membership edit pages. This option allows you to select a list that only members who purchase that Membership should be added to. Members will be automatically added to or removed from this list depending on their current Subscription status for this Membership. This list must be different from the Global list you have specified in the Options, and should be different from other Per-Membership lists as well.
Here's how to enable and setup your Per-Membership lists:
Step 5 - Disable Unsubscribe User Settings
In your Campaign Monitor account, be sure to edit the lists unsubscribe settings so as to unsubscribe users from the current list, instead of all lists. This can be done by navigating to the Unsubscribe settings option as seen below:
Then select the option for Only remove them from this list.
